After a scenic flight from Bangkok, we landed in Paro and embarked on a picturesque journey to Thimphu. Our home for the next two nights was the exquisite Six Senses Thimphu, aptly named the "Palace in the Sky." Perched high above the valley floor, the resort overlooks apple orchards and pine forests, with captivating views of the Buddha Dordenma statue. The resort blends seamlessly with its surroundings, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

1. Memorial Chorten: Built in 1974 to honor the third King of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, this stupa is a prominent landmark in Thimphu. It is a place of daily worship for many Bhutanese, who circumambulate the stupa and spin its prayer wheels.
2. Buddha Dordenma: This gigantic Buddha statue is one of the largest in the world, standing at 52 meters tall. Located at the Kuensel Phodrang Nature Park, the statue houses over 125,000 smaller Buddhas. The site offers panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley.
